Hello everyone,
Coffee can be enjoyed at any moment and in any season.
I like to make a cup of coffee on weekend mornings and savor it slowly! I am sure, everyone has their own way of enjoying coffee.
This time I would like to introduce 「Saladday coffee」. The coffee shop can go an 11-minute walk from Akihabara Station or 9-minute walk from Naka-Okachimachi and Suehirocho Stations, for those who want to take a break and enjoy their time with coffee.
With its distinctive blue tiled exterior and warm lights, this café is a renovated bookbindery. The large glass windows and doors can see inside the store from the outside, and the coffee beans of the day are placed on the outside windowsill.
Looking around the store, I first noticed a large coffee roasting machine. It was so big machine. 「Saladday coffee」serves roasted coffee beans made by themselves. The shop’s wooden interior that creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere, along with the owner’s recommendation of records. It creates a relaxing space.
They prepared 6 kinds of coffee beans this time. Those beans were Kenya, Ethiopia, Colombia, Nicaragua, Cascara (from Guatemala), and Brazil. These coffee beans are available from medium roast to deep roast, so you can choose your preference roast beans.
Here is the menu.
・Drip coffee 500 yen ( you can choose the beans from 6 kinds, 5regions)
・Espresso 350 yen
・Latte 520 yen
・Americano 450 yen
・Mocha 550 yen
・Espresso Tonic 550 yen
・Cascara (coffee cherry ) 550 yen
・Cascara soda (coffee cherry soda) 550 yen
・Cocoa 400 yen
There is no food available, only drinks on the menu.
Drip coffee (500 yen), available in a choice of five regions at the top of the menu. They dripped the coffee so slowly and carefully. The other espresso, cafe latte, americano, and cafe mocha are brewed by an espresso machine. This espresso machine is the only one of its kind in the world, a vintage SLAYER machine!
I couldn’t decide whether to have a latte made with espresso by such a machine or hand-drip coffee. After much deliberation, I decided to order a Colombian hand-drip coffee! Here is the coffee I ordered.
Popayan, Colombia
Production area: Popayan, Cauca, Colombia
Farm: Several farmers in the Popayan area
Altitude: 1690 meters
Varieties: Castillo, Colombia, Caturra
Refining: Washed
Description: The beans have a fruitiness reminiscent of plums and acerola, with a sweet, savory, caramel-like flavor that lingers toward the end of the drink.
The coffee in the mug was more generous and drinkable than I had imagined. The Colombian coffee, as described in the description, had a strong fruity acidity, and while it had the sourness of acerola and plum, it had a very clean aftertaste. I was able to drink it all so easily.
The day was a particularly cold day, so the coffee made me so warm.
And I had such a wonderful time that I could imagine how great it would be to read a book while enjoying a cup of coffee in a space where time passed leisurely.
I had the coffee in the store, but you can also order for to go, so I recommend visiting during a stroll in Akihabara or during a break from work!

Thank you for reading to the end!
